Rural Daviess

Farms, shops, and homes — all wired right.

Utica's a town of about 700 people surrounded by farmland. Most of our calls out here involve well pumps, grain bin power, agricultural shop wiring, and older home service upgrades — plus the occasional pool, hot tub, or generator.

Most addresses are on Kenergy. Long pole feeds are standard. We size feeder cable for the actual distance and ground every detached building correctly.

Agricultural Wiring

Grain bins, dryer motors, irrigation pumps, barn lighting, livestock waterers — all to current ag-electrical code.

Well Pump Circuits

Dedicated 240V circuits, weatherproof disconnect at the wellhead, generator-priority wiring.

Detached Shop Sub-Panels

100A or 200A feeds to detached shops & pole barns — proper 4-wire feeder, ground rod, building disconnect.

Older Home Upgrades

60–100A → 200A service. FPE/Zinsco panel removal. Aluminum wire pigtailing for insurance.

FAQ

Utica electrician questions.

Will you drive out to Utica?
Absolutely — we cover all of southwest Daviess County out of our Philpot HQ. About a 25-minute drive. No travel charge for the free site visit.
Can you wire grain bins or ag-only buildings?
Yes. Grain bin power, dryer motor circuits, control panels, and irrigation pump circuits. Ag-electrical follows specific NEC sections (Article 547) — we know them.
My well pump won't start. Can you diagnose it?
Yes — we diagnose well pump electrical (pressure switch, breaker, control wire to submersible pump, capacitor on jet pumps). If it's a mechanical pump failure inside the well, we coordinate with a well-drilling outfit; we handle the electrical side.
My older home has aluminum wiring. Will you repair it?
Yes. We use AlumiConn copper-pigtail connectors (CPSC-recognized) at every device. Most insurers accept that as a proper fix and restore coverage. Cheaper than a full rewire.
Is propane fine for a generator out here?
Most Utica properties run on propane (no natural gas service). Generac and Kohler both run on propane. We size the supply tank for sustained outage runtime — usually a 500–1000 gallon tank for whole-home backup.
